Job Description

The Data & AI Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s Data & AI vision, ensuring that data, analytics, and AI initiatives support operational efficiency, digital transformation, and sustainable business growth.

This role oversees a team and collaborates extensively with business leaders to embed data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making across the enterprise.

The individual will also lead the scaling of the data and AI function, develop modern data platforms, and ensure that analytical and AI/ML solutions are deployed responsibly and effectively to support profitable growth, innovation, and future readiness.

What you'll get to do

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  1. Partner with business stakeholders to define and execute the enterprise Data & AI strategy.
  2. Align business strategy with data, analytics, and AI roadmaps, ensuring high-impact outcomes.
  3. Drive adoption of AI, machine learning, and GenAI use cases across business units.

Data, Analytics & AI Delivery

  1. Oversee BI, analytics, data engineering, and AI/ML initiatives from ideation to production.
  2. Lead development of scalable data pipelines, data marts, and AI models using modern cloud platforms.
  3. Implement and monitor predictive models, recommendation engines, forecasting systems, and automation solutions.
  4. Champion the integration of AI (e.g., GenAI agents, document intelligence, RPA+AI workflows) into core business processes.
  5. Oversee all dashboards, reports, and analytical assets across the organisation.
  6. Transform data into actionable insights to guide executive strategy, operational decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Governance, Quality & Security

  1. Lead and promote Data & AI Governance programs, ensuring strong data quality, privacy, and model governance.
  2. Oversee metadata management, cataloguing, and data lineage in alignment with enterprise governance policies.
  3. Ensure ethical, fair and responsible AI practices aligned with company policies.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  1. Build, manage and grow a team of data specialists (data/AI engineers, analysts, scientists)
  2. Collaborate with IT, Digital, Operations, and Business Leadership to deliver cross-functional Data & AI projects.
  3. Lead change management efforts to build a data- and AI-driven culture across the organisation.
  4. Train and mentor business teams on analytics tools, AI use cases, and data literacy.
  5. Oversee BI, data engineering, and AI-related programmes with internal and external partners.
  6. Manage project delivery, prioritisation, resource allocation, and stakeholder expectations.
  7. Ensure efficient utilisation of data and AI resources across regions and functions.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education & Technical Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems , Data Science or similar
  2. Strong knowledge of SQL, data modelling, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT frameworks (SSIS, Talend, Informatica, dbt, Airbyte, etc.).
  3. Experience in data visualization solutions (Power BI, Tableau or Qlik) and cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Snowflake.
  4. Familiarity with machine learning or AI development frameworks (Python, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a strong advantage.
  5. Experience with GenAI tools and LLM-based applications (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI) is highly desirable.

Experience

  1. Proven experience (minimum 3–5 years) in data analytics, BI, data management, or related technology roles.
  2. Experience in leading data, analytics, or AI projects with internal and external partners.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver data or AI transformation initiatives.
  4. Ability to meet deadlines and manage project delivery
